Templating preferences is a feature of the container. Gadgets do not know, and
do not depend on how preferences are handled in the container. I personally
don't have much experience with templating preferences. I THINK the feature is
used as a way of providing preference values but I am not sure of the advantage
to using templated preferences. You might want to send an email to the dev
list to see if someone can give you a good use case. If this fixes your
problem can you please close this JIRA?
