Chris M. Hostetter commented on SOLR-15361:
-------------------------------------------
bq. ... I'm really not sure what the publishing process for Solr/ Docker, etc.
is going to be - hence I can't offer any reasonable help with arranging it. ...
No, no ... i wasn't asking/expecting you to ... just explaining that as part of
the work we are doing on docker, we need the build system to be able to sign
the solr.tgz distribution sooner rather then later because in order to _test_
the generated Dockerfiles we need the build to produce a solr.tgz.asc file that
can be "downloaded" as part our testing
(I thought i had added a blocker link before, but i guess it didn't take -- so
re-linking now)
> update gradle build to support gpg signing of tgz/zip distributions

> the gradle build does not currently have any support for gpg signing the
> distributions we produce.
> this is neccessary for releases, and for being able to "smoke test" our
> Dockerfiles prior to release (by creating mock download servers to confirm
> {{docker build}} can correctly fetch the {{tgz}} & {{tgz.asc}} files we point
> it at)
