[~noble.paul] - I think this broke all of the tests. There's a lot of failures
https://ci-builds.apache.org/job/Solr/job/Solr-Check-main shows them coming in
sometime after {{f062be22e5f}} and before {{7c4567c8c49}} but it's hard to
bisect because of the Lucene API break in the middle there.
Given that we're going into the weekend and it's already past midnight your
time, I'm going to make the potentially controversial decision to revert this
change from main. That lets us get the fix in properly instead of having to
rush for it.
