The comment about Curator seems actionable by itself as a nice "first step" of
embracing Curator for whatever purpose inside Solr. Definitely it's own JIRA
issue. It's a shame Curator can't piggy-back off of Solr's existing ZK
connection? Perhaps that's why we haven't used it for anything at all so far,
despite an interest on us to do so. Also, "backing" SolrZkClient by Curator
isn't workable as it's in SolrJ but I could imagine refactoring the thing into
a base class with two subclasses -- one for the current code to by used only by
SolrJ, and the other for inside Solr servers.
BTW SOLR-14306 is the only other issue I see about Curator but it calls for a
new module.
