[~noble.paul] You just did some commits to a closed Jira with fixVersion=8.9.
That leaves no record in changes.txt for 9.0.0 about the most recent change.
This Jira has a very messy history. Please create new JIRAs for new work. I
don't know whether this last commit fixes a regression from 8.9 or if it is
some new functionality or what. Please clarify and fix.
