The combination docker and systemd can also be quite powerful. This one will
stand up latest solr 8.x with index data in the volume "solrData", but not
upgrade to solr9:

After=docker.service

Restart=always
ExecStartPre=-/usr/bin/docker stop %n
ExecStartPre=-/usr/bin/docker rm %n

ExecStart=/usr/bin/docker run --rm --name %n -p 8983:8983 -v
solrData:/var/solr/data solr:8

It may not be suer reliable but probably good enough for a single node on a
local machine. To upgrade you simply need to "systemctl restart solr.service".
