Hi [~Nunien] - sorry for the delayed response.
There's no particular reason that I know of. SolrJ classes often lag behind in
supporting all the features that Solr's APIs offer - even for things that've
been around forever as facets have. It definitely looks possible - I'd be
happy to review if you do get a chance to implement and can share your work
here.
