Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-16078:
------------------------------------
Current coordinates: {{org.apache.solr:solr-solrj}}
New possible coordinates: {{org.apache.solr.solrj:solrj-xxx}}
Since a new group name means SolrJ users will need to not only bump version but
change coordinates, there should be no confusion with a "dangling", unused
module, which may be why David suggested to re-purpose the "solr-solrj" module.
With this new situaion, I feel it is better to be explicit and use
"solrj-core", "solrj-jdbc... module names, and also "solrj-all" as an
all-in-one artifact.

> We should introduce a solrj-core module that is as slim as possible wrt
> dependencies.
> A user will then add solrj-core as well as any other solj-xx modules needed
> for their use.
> By marking it {{\@lucene.experimental}} we can change the API of this
> solrj-core during 9.x as we move stuff into other modules.
