To upgrade the gradle version, I ran that "gradle wrapper" command and then had
to change the version number in two files:
gradle/validation/check-environment.gradle and
gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar.version
I will open a new issue with the patch for updating the gradle wrapper. I
tested the updated build with OpenJDK 17.
