Backporting makes sense to me, once you're happy with the "baking" and as long
as post.jar sticks around on branch_9x. It keeps branch_9x and main a little
closer together, gets the word out that post.jar will be going away, and gets
the presumably nicer {{bin/solr post}} interface into people's hands earlier.
