Thanks for chiming in Stefan.
Not sold on running in foreground by default, what would be the benefit of
letting systemd take care of logging? I think we have a pretty solid PID
handling as is.
May I suggest you open a new Jira (or a new PR on this same Jira numer) with
your suggestions for improvement on the service. I see from your linked example
that there are probably lots of extra settings that could make sense such as
number of open files etc. That would be nice to add.
