I updated the PR to upgrade to Lucene 9.12.1 and to use the newly introduced
constructor. Everything looks good to me.
Also, some new checks were introduced in Lucene testing framework with [PR
#13578|https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/13578] to ensure segment files are
always read with {{READONCE}} mode. This was breaking some backup/restore tests.
I updated backup code to use this mode, with definitely makes sense to me.
