I should have already ripped out those reporters in these 2 PRs as best as I

Everything is pretty much done on the feature branch with tests all passing and
is in a state where you can use Solr and metrics with OTEL. I just trying to do
some minor cleanup on the latest open PRs and then write up the ref-guide.
Going to be gone this week but we should be finished the week I get back.
