Thanks for sharing @hossman.. I am mostly focused on removing deprecated
code from across Solr code base, so that's pretty much assuming the path is set
by whoever marked something deprecated! That was why I opened up this PR.
@dsmiley it would be nice if we had a set of JIRA's or a SIP that laid out
the clear vision for where our testing strategy should go, and honestly, I
don't think I have that vision. There is a lot of knowledge locked up in your
head about how testing should happen, and I know I've always struggled when
trying to do something new to figure out which strategy to use. Maybe a
dev-docs?
I am working in a reactive mode of "it's deprecated? Oh good, let me figure
out how to remove it".
