...sigh... I'm busy and this PR has more risk that wasn't first seen, so it's gonna take more energy from me than I want to put in this month (April). Basically, barely anyone sets this to "true" even though it's logically what users *should* want most of the time. It's not a well-exercised code path, which means risk. I could imagine performance problems in heavy cloud operations like a backup/restore for example -- just a guess but would ideally have a bit of analysis to see. I'd be more comfortable making this change now if there's a global flag (e.g. via EnvUtils) to toggle it, mitigating the performance/scale risk. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
