Ugh, we are on Kafka 3, and there is now Kafka 4... Kafka 3 hasn't had a
release in six months since **3.9.2 i**. Now on 4.3.1... I am starting to
get the "Jetty" feeling, as we may be falling behind, and therefore if they
don't update their dependencies, then we get stuck.. We need to get to kafka
4 in main/branch_10x!
