Answered: `security.json` lives in ZooKeeper, not in the pods, so deleting the Kubernetes secrets doesn't reset auth. Remove it from ZooKeeper (`kubectl exec <solr-pod> -- solr zk rm <chroot>/security.json`) and restart a pod, and the operator bootstraps it again. Closing as answered.
