We generally use the mailing list for questions, not JIRA. Unfortunately we
can't disable that issue type, so here we are...
Anyway, it seems to me that either you're running a really old external shuffle
service (instead of the one from 1.6.1), or that the shuffle service is not
properly configured (e.g. it doesn't have "spark.authenticate=true" set).
You can try to see if that's the case by disabling use of the external shuffle
service when starting app (and dynamic allocation, if that's also enabled).
e.g. {{--conf spark.shuffle.service.enabled=false --num-executors 2}}
