In that case lets do the parameter patching thing where we have a version which
works without the `sc` arg and with it for backwards compatibility.
[~felixcheung] I dont think we need another general purpose mechanism like the
one we have in DataFrame.R -- we can just patch these 3 functions explicitly if
this is a one-time thing ?
