As per https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/14889#issuecomment-243697097 using
version 1.0 of testthat will improve the messages printed at the end of a test
to include skipped tests etc.
The current package version on Jenkins is 0.11.0 and we can upgrade this to
1.0.0 if there are no conflicts etc.
