Carl Zmola commented on SPARK-17413:
------------------------------------

Our comments crossed paths. It doesn't work in scala 2.9.2. or scala 2.11.8
For me.

I will investigate, feel free to close this if it doesn't show up for other
people on the most recent Ubuntu LTS release.

> Key: SPARK-17413
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-17413
> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Spark Shell
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0
> Environment: Linux-Ubuntu
> Reporter: Carl Zmola
> Priority: Minor
>
> Start spark shell from bash.
> run some commands.
> Note that command line editing is working, as well as ^R and ^P
> now hit ^Z to suspend the shell, type a bash command (ls), type "fg" got get
> back to the spark-shell.
> The spark shell still works, but all command line editing capability is lost.
> control characters are echoed back instead of being processed by readline.
