Joseph K. Bradley commented on SPARK-16626:
-------------------------------------------
The current plan is to leave spark.mllib.linalg untouched, except for bug
fixes. It would be great to extend spark.ml.linalg though.
> Code duplication after SPARK-14906

> Key: SPARK-16626
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-16626
> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: MLlib, PySpark
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0
> Reporter: Maciej Szymkiewicz
>
> SPARK-14906 resulted in a significant amount of duplicated code between
> pyspark.ml.linalg and pyspark.mllib.linalg. Even if this is a temporary
> situation it is unlikely a desired state.
> Since Python representation and logic is almost identical it can be easily
> reduced.
