[~shivaram] that error code 1 is grep failing to find anything matching pandoc
in /var/log/yum.log (meaning pandoc and pandoc-citeproc weren't updating when i
did the system update).
here are the versions we have installed:

[root@amp-jenkins-worker-05 R]# rpm -qa | grep pandoc
pandoc-citeproc-0.9.1.1-1.el6.x86_64
pandoc-1.17.0.3-1.el6.x86_64

EDIT: i just checked the archived yum logs and these two packages are at the
same version as when installed last year.
