Btw, thanks for suggesting the right way to get strings out. I created a PR to
update spark-tensorflow-connector:
https://github.com/tensorflow/ecosystem/pull/100.
However, I still view it as a breaking change. It makes packages used to work
with 2.3 no longer works with 2.4.
