Is the idea here to not write "_2.xx" in artifact IDs? doesn't Scala need that?
Is the idea that Maven should let you declare artifact IDs with variable
replacements? It doesn't though and I don't think it will; that's out of scope
for Spark in any event.
What's the potential way forward?
