The `maven-mirror` profile allows to specify an alternative maven repository by
setting the `MAVEN_MIRROR_URL` env variable. This is useful if e.g. [maven
central and other public maven repos are blocked by a firewall.
Unfortunately, maven still tries to fetch plugins from public maven repos, even
when `MAVEN_MIRROR_URL` is set.
