Yicong Huang resolved SPARK-59031.
----------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
Not needed. Per offline discussion, the Spark Connect protocol should stay
simple: the server already returns an unsupported-API error
(CONNECT_INVALID_PLAN.NO_HANDLER_FOR_EXTENSION), and a feature client can
decide per case whether to propagate the error or swallow it and no-op via its
own try/catch. A generic client-side flag is unnecessary. PR apache/spark#58322
closed.
> Support best-effort Spark Connect commands that no-op when the server does
> not implement the API
