Hyukjin Kwon created SPARK-61186:
------------------------------------

Summary: Forget the tags and user context extensions of a thread
when the thread ends, in the Rust and Python clients, as PySpark's thread
locals do
                 Key: SPARK-61186
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-61186
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Connect
    Affects Versions: connect-rust-4.3.0
            Reporter: Hyukjin Kwon

SPARK-61166 made the threads of inheritable_thread_target share a copy of the
tags of the session, keyed by thread id in the Rust core. A thread that ends
left its entry in the map.
The user context extensions of a thread (threadlocal_user_context_extension)
were also kept per thread id, and never removed when the thread ended.
A program that starts a thread per task therefore grows the maps without bound.
PySpark's thread_local is freed with its thread.
