Josh Rosen commented on SPARK-6363:
-----------------------------------

One reason to consider building with 2.11 by default in Jenkins and to switch
2.10 to a compile-only build is the better support for code coverage and static
analysis tools in 2.11: we can use abide, scapegoat, scoverage, etc. with 2.11,
but these tools don't work well / at all with 2.10.

> make scala 2.11 default language

> Mostly all libraries already moved to 2.11 and many are starting to drop 2.10
> support. So, it will be better if Spark binaries would be build with Scala
> 2.11 by default.
