Michael,
I am confused. These are the steps I am doing, please correct me if I am wrong 
in the statements to create a HiveContext. 
I dont have another SparkContext running.

1. bin/spark-shell 
2. val hiveContext = new org.apache.spark.sql.hive.HiveContext(sc)

I appreciate your help.
