EMpty option only works when the options are not loaded dynamically, I just
tried this:
<sx:autocompleter list="{'apple','banana','grape','pear'}" emptyOption="true" />
and the output is:
<select visibledownarrow="true" keyname="nullKey" dojotype="struts:ComboBox">
<option value=""/>
<option value="apple">apple</option>
<option value="banana">banana</option>
<option value="grape">grape</option>
<option value="pear">pear</option>
</select>
