validChars does not validate the special chars entered at the beginning or the
end of the string.
Say for example if we enter complete or pass, If this special char is present
at the beginning or end of the string then validChars fails to identify this.
Im getting this issue in struts 1.2.4, Not sure if the same can be reproduced
on other versions as well.
