convention-plugin provides a set of own annotations like @Action or @Result to 
override the convention. I think it would be nice to have such annotations for 
tiles as well.

I'll attach a patch that contains such tiles annotations as well as a Result 
and ServletContextListener to use them. It has been designed to live inside an 
application and extends the Tiles2 Result. As it is not clear if it will be 
included in struts2 I'm attaching it as is, without propper framework 
integration.

You might find it useful.
