Joseph Walton commented on WW-4315:
-----------------------------------

bq. Hm... it's still supported and I don't see why it shouldn't be in the
future...

Thanks.

bq. Do you have any special concerns about that?

No, just a little confusion, now clarified. I'm going through an upgrade and
those old upgrade notes said that this behaviour had specifically been removed.

> Struts currently accepts both {{action!method.action}} and
> {{action!doMethod.action}} and will delegate them to {{doMethod()}}. However,
> the documentation doesn't explain this, and release notes and previous issues
> suggest that this is specifically unsupported.
> It would be nice to have a summary of whether this is supported for the
> long-term, still targeted for removal or a bug.
> The [Release Notes
> 2.0.0|http://struts.apache.org/release/2.3.x/docs/release-notes-200.html] say:
> {quote}
> In Struts,
> try to execute submit method in the action, fail
> fail
> {quote}
> and WW-1423 specifically requests that behaviour be changed but, as of
> 2.3.16.1, {{DefaultActionInvocation}} will still retry {{doSubmit}}.
