I have double and triple checked this. While still in the .doc file I can verify that the link points to the correct destination on the Web. When creating the link I used the toolbar hyperlink icon. Hyperlink type is set to Web, Web is selected in the leftmost column. Target is the desired URL and the text and name are the anchor text. I save the file then export it as the PDF. After many days on this I can only conclude it is a bug. I would be thrilled to find out otherwise and be able to fix this. Lengthy searching has not produced a solution.
