When using Writer (and possibly other OOo applications) I cannot change the
volume when it is the active window. I am using an HP keyboard with volume
control buttons. I cannot adjust the volume of my music (which I listen to
either in internet or iTunes). I must switch to a different window for volume
to be changeable.
