Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Automatic bullets feature shot
Classification: Application
Product: Word processor
Version: OOo 3.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows Vista
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: formatting
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
The automatic bullets feature seems to be non-functional, though automatic
numbering works fine. That is, with all prerequisites satisfied:
Type:
* one¶
Expected:
• one
•
Actual:
* one (no change)
(blank line, no leading bullet)
Numbering still works. Type:
1) one¶
Expected:
1) one
2)
Actual: as expected. This should be a reasonable check that the necessary
settings are correct.
To reproduce the problem:
1) Open a new, blank text document
2) Verify prerequisites:
2a) paragraph style is "Default" (also tried with style "Text body", same
results)
2b) Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Options, "Apply numbering — symbol" box is
checked
2c) Format > AutoCorrect "While typing" is checked
3) Type as above.
*Workaround*: This is a convenience feature, rather than a necessity. The
"Bullets On / Off" icon works fine. But anyone who still uses the default
styles probably finds "asterisk" easier to remember than "Shift+F12".
