Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Newly Installed OO3.3 writer denies me access to
previously backed up "writer" files!
Classification: Application
Product: Word processor
Version: OOo 3.3 RC7
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 7
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P1
Component: open-import
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
My previous netbook (Acer, Windows 7 starter) was stolen. I have now replaced
it with a slightly newer version of the same. I then downloaded my last online
backup from "Jungle Disk", including all my previous "writer/odt" files. Now
when I try to open any of them with a newly downloaded OO 3.3 version, I
constantly get the message "access denied..contact your administrator". But I
AM the administrator, and sole owner of both this and my previous computer!
How is it that your program can now deny me access to my own files? Please
advise ASAP. I need to access all of my previous work, and your program is not
allowing me to do so!
PS I've tried to download a file from my backup folder to give you an example.
But even here in your "attachment" program below, I get this message: "You
don't have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or
administrator to open this file."
So before you send me back on the yellow-brick-road, please tell me, O
Wizard, whose permission must I now obtain before I can open my own files?
And Blessings to the person who finally reads and answers my plea from
across the cyberspace chasm,
Chaplain Grant Bakewell
Sacramento, CA
