Warm greetings to you all.
I have tried to find answers to this problem through the community forum, and
as that has not worked I have come to you.
Basically the writer section from version 3.0 upwards is not reading Microsoft
files properly. What it does is it takes a long time to read the document and
when it is finished reading there are 28 pages with just a few lines of text on
each page. The document should be 10 pages long.Try it on the British Council
Website. I have had to backtrack all the way to version 2.0 which is working
perfectly, but I do realise that this is not a long term solution.
I will be most grateful for any help that you may be able to give.
Yours very sincerely
Tony von Seidel

PS I am sorry that I do not have a copy of these documents to hand as I deleted
them all.
