                    before

          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: save-export

We are a software company (Oxyad software) and we are using one of our tool in
order to manage external documents. Main actions in this case are opening or
copying files from our application to a dedicated location in a server.

We have encountered a particular behaviour of OpenWriter when our application
opens à odt file.

- OpenWriter seems to unlock the file during saving process in a particular
case-

steps:

1) open office writer. you will have a blank document.
2) Then open a existing Writer Document (more than 50 k for testing).
3) make some changes in the text.
4) save the changes.

We have detected some files where changes were not taken into account.

WHY ? : Our tool behaves as a watch dog and waits until file is unlocked. When
file is unlocked it copies file from station to the server.

Our tool believes saving process is finished. but in fact saving process is not
finished and changes are not included into file .

So, We think OpenWriter unlocks document during saving process when a blank
document is opened before.

This behaviour appears since release 3. We do not have encountered this
behaviour with previous versions.
