I'm using Open office 3.3.0 Build 9567 (which didn't seem to be in the
dropdown). I don't know when this problem first appeared, maybe it's been
around all the time, but my current set up is showing it all the time.

The UI language for Open Office is UK English. My laptop has a Swedish
keyboard, but is in English as I'm an expat living here. That's all working
fine.
The document I'm writing is in US English, which also works fine. The default
document language is US English and it happily lets me write, edit and
spellcheck in US English. I can also write documents in UK English okay.

The problem comes when I plug in my old UK USB keyboard. Then, once I've
selected UK English in the language bar pinned to my task bar, the document
will not stay in US English. It switches to UK English after typing 1 or 2
characters. The previously written text is still US English, just new text
changes. If I then unplug the keyboard and go back to using the laptop keyboard
the language keeps changing to Swedish if I don't quit the document and open it
again.

I know this isn't a showstopper, and I know most people will never see it, but
it's doing my head in, as we'd say in Manchester. With more and more people
working and travelling to foreign countries (and borrowing keyboards when
they're there) people will see this. It also seems to be that once the language
changes the spellcheck doesn't really work either, even in UK English.
