Current DML scripts in general are hard to work with in notebook environment
and in many cases are completely incomprehensible. Also, no tests and examples
exist, making it near impossible for new comers to use or improve upon these
scripts.
Recently major improvements have been made to MLContext in SYSTEMML-1511 jira.
But these work only if the DML scripts define proper functions for the
algorithms. Currently, only the deep learning library can benefit from latest
MLContext improvements.
This epic jira will track the task of modernizing existing DML scripts with
major focus on improving the usability of systemml, and also restructuring
everything in a way that would help adding new algorithms.
Attached document describes the work needed to achieve this goal.
