Right. However is the patch enough for the purpose of this jira?
Before we extend this to remove other kinds of work from the central dispatcher
we will probably need our own version of AsyncDispatcher. The would use an
executor service instead of a single thread. This would allows us to increase
the number of threads for dispatchers whose entities can run in parallel.
