[~jeagles] My first and main concern was that the web tarball should not show
up in repositories.apache.org. It is a binary/convenience artifact and in my
opinion, does not belong in a maven repository.
It could be part of the build to help users easily get a tarball to deploy in
their environments but the main concern is ensuring it is not an artifact
pushed to the repo as part of deploy. Furthermore, if we are making convenience
artifacts available for users as part of the release, then yes, we need to fix
the license/notice files to be part of the tarball. That holds true for the
tarballs in tez-dist too. Till date, there have been no convenience artifacts
generated and made available as part of a release.
