The minimal and full tarballs are a bit confusing.
A better assembly structure would be:
tez/
<tez jars>
conf/<default conf templates>
lib/<dependency jars - same as ones in /lib of minimal tarball>
lib/tez.tar.gz
The tez.tar.gz would be the full tarball.
The lib/jars would be the same ones as the minimal tarball. This would also the
assembly to be deployed and used as needed on a hadoop client/gateway node by
adding "tez/conf/:tez/*:tez/lib/*" to HADOOP_CLASSPATH
