Submitted new patch. Uses lazySet().
Empty inputs readers notifyprogress on their next() method before finishing. So
that case should be handled. However for non-framework inputs that are merged
its not handled. So adding notifies for merged inputs whenever internal readers
change.
Added missing notify for OrderedGroupedKVReader. Good catch.
