After successful deletion testing on dev, I deployed it to main in f52bf6a563b5f3d7b56a3569fd6df08130a3e796 and most of the relevant inactive releases have been deleted as ten days have elapsed since the warning message. Two releases could not be deleted due to a validation consistency error, which I already knew about and which only affects old releases.
