So, it's a wee bit confusing, but the resource tracking was apparently left 
crippled. John seems to think it is (or was useful), so I suggest we leave it 
there for now, in case he or someone wants to fix it? But I'm ok either way.

However, Resource.cc and Resource.h, which are also crippled, are superseded by 
e.g. tcmalloc. I think those should go away now, I'll file a separate ticket on 
that.
