The previous patch caused a segfault in plugin handling for Brian in
production. Perhaps I introduced an error in the iobuffer cleanup from the
previous patch. ts-3424-3.diff is another attempt at a fix with a more
thorough review of how the data in handShakeBuffer is managed.
