I just tried ts-3424-3.diff (a variant on 5.2.0) in our production
environment. It reduced the rate of increase in ssl_error_ssl by an order of
magnitude.
I did not see any crashes. I did see a significant increase in "404 (Not Found
on Accelerator)" errors. But this was true with and without the patch, so I
think that is an unrelated issue.
